RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the Pain Care providers with daily clinical and operational functions. Provides general administrative support to the department. Assesses, implements, and evaluates care for patients per the provider's direction. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday from 7:45am -4:15pm; no weekends.

Essential Job Functions:

(50%) Patient Care



  • Assists providers with follow-up on care plans for patients
  • Ensures care plans are documented and carried out according to the facility's standards
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or provider of patient's condition and reaction to treatment; documents as appropriate in the patient's chart
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by provider and/or clinic policy
  • Greets patients and escorts patient to exam room, takes and records patient vitals and temperature, and assists provider or technologist in the room as needed
  • Contacts pain management patients via telephone to see if additional treatment or a follow-up visit is needed
  • Ensures provider has patients' health history by entering patient past medical information and orders into RIS and obtaining previous medical records
  • Communicates directly with provider regarding patient medications and possible contraindications
  • Starts IVs
  • Assists in oral sedation


(45%) Administrative Support



  • Schedules follow-up appointments for patients
  • Facilitates patient flow with direction from supervisor
  • Discharges the patient from the clinic with appropriate information and documentation
  • Calls or faxes prescriptions
  • Documents all patient prep calls in the appropriate Information System
  • Assembles next day's History and Physical Examination paperwork for assigned locations
  • Handles all incoming calls from patients regarding past procedures or treatments with the guidance of the provider
  • Monitors the clinic schedule and coordinates patient flow with scheduling and front office to manage and schedule add-ons and follow-up appointments
  • Maintains office supplies within department and stock room
  • Assists with cleaning exam room, following proper cleanliness, and safety techniques


(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Required:



  • LPN degree or diploma from an accredited LPN program
  • LPN license from the appropriate state, current and in good standing
  • Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Data entry experience


Preferred:



  • LPN experience in surgical center or radiology
  • Electronic Medical Record proficiency
  • Bilingual
