Job Summary
Coordinates, develops, and maintains Nursing Excellence programs and structures to achieve the highest level of outcomes in patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and nursing sensitive indicators. Develops new proposal to leverage nursing excellence in transformational leadership, exemplary professional practice, structural empowerment, and new knowledge, innovations & improvement. Coordinates needs assessments to understand and drive education and program development to achieve improved outcomes.
Fosters a culture of excellence and assimilates professional practice model into Nursing practice. Supports nursing recognition programs and activities. Produces the quarterly UCD Nurse and the Annual Nursing Report. Facilitates the Daisy Award recognition program.
Coordinates activities required to attain and maintain ANCC Magnet designation. Facilitates and oversees application submission, document preparation, and project management. Analyzes and presents key quality and patient satisfaction outcomes to nursing leaders, executive leadership, and frontline staff, and supports the team to develop and track progress of their improvement plan. Serves as the content expert and facilitator to the organization's infrastructure for the Magnet program certification in the role as Magnet Program Director (MPD).
Attends and participates in the governance council and structures. Supports the development of the UBPC leadership through quarterly NPC All Here Day. Acts as a liaison between departments and nursing councils to ensure identified needs are communicated and supported in alignment with organizational established goals.
The position assumes fiscal responsibility through accountability to the division's budget, participates in both short-term and long-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. - A valid California Registered Nurse License
- Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
- Master's degree required in Nursing or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing management, leadership and/or educator experience.
- Experience in professional writing, presentations, and teaching/education of nurses.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area.
- Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
- Knowledge and proficiency in the use of health care technology.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
- Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
- Strong analytical and data management skills.
- Strong project management skills, and knowledge of change management theory, development of projects from conception to delivery, and management of project outcomes.
- Progressive expertise in education and training program development and implementation, nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
