Job Description:

The Role:

Our facility in Aurora, IL is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems for CMP Pads. This individual defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products to established standards and customer specifications. The Quality Engineer supports the new product development process and provides quality leadership, training, and technical product knowledge to employees throughout the Entegris organization.

What You'll Do:

Product and Process Support

  • Leads 8D Problem Solving Teams related to customer complaints, including the failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective and preventative action activities for manufacturing defect resolution

  • Communicate with customer-facing team on quality complaints, inquiries, and general product information

  • Support and develop content for internal and external (customer) audits of the production plant

  • Participates as a team member on New Product Development transfers to HVM production

  • Authors, and analyzes the results of, validation and qualification protocols for products, processes, and equipment, including ownership of necessary Management of Change documentation and approval

  • Generates, analyzes, and reports on the levels of product quality within the assigned manufacturing areas, including Pareto, Statistical Process Control, and Process Capability Studies

  • Facilitates internal trend reviews and maintains the tools to support internal control limit reviews

  • Participates in continuous improvement (6 Sigma, CI, etc.) within assigned manufacturing areas

  • Participates in material disposition decisions as a subject matter expert for the product, and facilitates the quality systems related to non-conforming materials at the plant

  • Leads MSA schedule and activities and the development and implementation of improvements to meet measurement system performance specifications

  • Partners with quality lab personnel to ensure robust quality systems are maintained for raw material upload, certificate of analysis generation

Technical Expertise:

  • Lab experience, including knowledge of quality test methods and equipment related to CMP Pads, is desirable

  • Recommends and implements quality procedural and quality process improvements

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis software and measurement system analysis, JMP or Minitab preferred

Documentation and Audits:

  • Authors and/or reviews Standard Operating Processes, work instructions, product specifications, and other documents related to product quality for accuracy

  • Follows and ensures compliance to corporate and site procedures as it relates to quality systems

  • Develops and maintains audit functions (process-level) ensuring quality systems and products are consistent with internal documentation, standards, and customer requirements

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 6 years progressive quality engineering experience

  • Expert knowledge and experience with implementing Statistical Process Controls, FMEA, process audits and other proactive quality management practices; Six Sigma experience is preferred

  • Strong project management and leadership skills with an ability to collaborate with cross functional departments such as Customer Quality, Product Development, Product Management, and Production Engineering

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, ERP systems skills (SAP strongly desired) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (SampleManager strongly desired)
