The Chief Medical Officer for Home Therapies provides vision and direction to DCI Home Therapies. He or she is a champion for home treatment modalities and a strong advocate for patient choice and education. He or she has experience in home modalities and has a physician license in good standing and meets eligibility requirements for DCI Medical Staff credentialing. **Responsibilities** Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Works closely with individual physicians, advanced practitioners and home nurses to promote home dialysis and to provide clinical guidance while addressing challenges that home patients may face. Educates and continually updates physicians, advanced practitioners and DCI employees in topics related to home modalities via lectures at DCI meetings, outside meetings attended by DCI physicians, academic settings, hospitals and in DCI clinics. Actively participates in public policy, advocating for changes to increase access to home therapies. Leads and supports Home Therapy quality improvement initiatives and improves outcomes in collaboration with Corporate Department of Education and Quality Management. Collaborates with DCI Kidney Care leadership on efforts to increase access to home dialysis and transplantation. Provides education to improve knowledge about home therapies within DCI Kidney Care. Collaborates to improve leadership skills of corporate home nurses. Works with Corporate Department of Education and Quality Management on agenda, themes, and speakers for Home Therapy Meetings. Presents at Annual Meeting and Medical Director meetings. Collaborates with Home Therapy Workgroup. Assists in the education of Corporate Home Therapy Nurses and supports them by working collaboratively to improve and elevate DCI's Home Programs. Helps to improve leadership skills of corporate home nurses. Works closely with Operations, Education and Quality Management to continually improve outcomes for patients on Home Therapies. Supports and contributes to the continued development of the Darwin EHR as it relates to Home Therapies. Participates in monthly Home Program Operational Review Meetings. Assists clinics in following improvement plans and discusses these with Medical Directors and other physicians to facilitate improvement as needed. Consults on construction plans for space that includes Home Programs. Helps to develop processes and tools for the evaluation, monitoring, and improvement of the performance of Home Programs. Keeps DCI up to date on technology, research, and best practices in the delivery of care at home. Serves as a subject matter expert and resource for clinical research projects related to Home Therapies. Collaborates with Director of Communications to publish articles and press releases on DCI successes in the area of Home Therapies. Assists Education and Quality Management Department with the development of virtual training sessions for employees, physicians and advanced practitioners in the DCI Education Module. Works with Department of Operations, Information Technology and others, as needed, to continue to develop and refine the financial dashboard for Home Therapies. Understands and supports DCI's financial goals, positions and priorities related to Home Therapies and the available technologies and products. Balances priorities of high quality and excellent patient care with financial considerations and constraints in collaboration with other individuals and departments at DCI. Collaborates with Executive leadership team and others at DCI to ensure that activities and initiatives related to Home Therapies are aligned with overall strategic plan for DCI Kidney Care. Keeps up with the latest technologies and newest devices that are introduced to the Home Therapies market. Has a willingness to work with startups on product design, development and testing. **Qualifications** Experience in home modalities. A physician license in good standing and meets eligibility requirements for DCI Medical Staff credentialing. Competencies include: a humble leader.
