Percent time: 100% Anticipated start: July 1, 2025 or later Application Window Open date: October 29, 2024 Next review date: Monday, Dec 2, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a tenured position in Cognitive Neuroscience who will also serve as the Director of the UCSB Brain Imaging Center (BIC). This is a tenured faculty position at the level of Full Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025 or later. The ideal candidate will have an active, cutting-edge research program in any area related to cognitive neuroscience and assume the role of director of the BIC (https://bic.ucsb.edu/). The BIC is a core research facility of the UCSB campus dedicated to understanding the structure, function and dynamical properties of the human brain. The center supports a state of the art 3-Tesla (3T) Siemens PRISMA MRI system with a 64 channel head coil as well as MRI compatible high density EEG hardware and multiple high-end stimulus presentation and response devices. The main purpose of the Center is to support basic research in cognitive, affective, and social neuroscience using functional magnetic resonance imaging. The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences conducts cutting-edge research in core areas of experimental psychology, including cognition and the perceptual sciences, developmental and evolutionary psychology, neuroscience and behavior, and social psychology. The department's commitment to interdisciplinary pursuits is reflected in expansive research and teaching collaborations with a variety of other disciplines, including the biological sciences, anthropology, communication, education, linguistics, geography, and sociology. Must possess a Full Professor rank or an equivalent title recognized by the UC system.
