JOB DESCRIPTION: BOXER/SERVER Under the directions of the Materials Lead, incumbent is responsible for ensuring the safe packing and shipment of glass and other materials to be distributed to customers. Qualifications:
DIFFICULTY OF WORK The work consists of tasks or duties requiring some previous knowledge and understanding. The incumbent works with established guidelines and procedures and uses judgment to analyze and recommend improvements for operating procedures and maintenance. RESPONSIBILITY Work is of some complexity requiring a moderate degree of decision making in the application of procedures and methods in determining appropriate remedies for varied and diverse set-up problems. Work is performed under the direction of the Materials Lead, with periodic review of assignments. PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS Incumbent has contact with other plant employees. The purpose of these contacts is to exchange information regarding immediate needs and specific processes within the production line and to maintain production and quality standards and goals. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Incumbent works with frequent exposure to dust, grease, extreme temperature, and is involved in work that may involve major injury or loss of life. Physical effort is exerted regularly for sustained periods and may include heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending.
