Value Analysis Coordinator

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Value Analysis Coordinator
  • Location: Warrenville, IL
  • Full Time
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8am- 4:30pm
  • Required Travel: This role will require travel to all of Endeavor Health's Chicagoland locations, dependent on the clinical needs this could be between 20-30% of the role.

Job Summary:

The Value Analysis Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities of various stakeholders from Endeavor Health Value Analysis Teams (VATs), Category Management Team and the Supplier community to ensure high responsiveness to clinical needs and goals. This individual will coordinate activities related to Value Analysis Team meetings which include the management of product requests, implementation of local and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts, product/service cost analysis, product/service introduction, trials and overall change initiatives (substitutions and manufacture discontinuation of products) on behalf of end users at all Endeavor Health facilities.

This role will require travel to all of Endeavor Health's Chicagoland locations, dependent on the clinical needs this could be between 20-30% of the role.

What you will do:

  • Reviews new product requests with the Category Manager lead prior to each Value Analysis committee meeting.
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure new product requests are complete and concise, and ensures all necessary documents are uploaded into the new product request depository before discussing with the Category Manager.
  • Collects and complies essential clinical data and literature (including product studies when available), for all new product requests and performs associated cost analyses in collaboration with the Category Management team.
  • Serves as an active participant on monthly Value Analysis committee meetings and documents key committee discussions and decisions. Documents identified and implemented cost savings initiatives and audits projected utilization and actual spend.
  • Facilitates communication and dissemination of relevant clinical literature, including evidenced-based and peer-review studies, to support new product requests, utilization, conversions and trials.
  • Records and prepares product and service utilization reports, patient outcomes and updates for assigned VATs. Monitors trends in product, service and process utilization/consumption with emphasis on departments overconsumption.
  • Coordinates committee meeting invites, prepares clinical information for presentation for new product/service requests, and organizes meetings for product trials between clinical staff, physicians and suppliers. Collaborates with Category Management, Distribution and Logistics, and other relevant parties for product trials and conversions.
  • Assists in connecting relevant product education materials between requesting department, education team and associated vendor.
  • Assists the Category Management team with compliance on contracting strategies related to clinical equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Provide project management for product conversions across the organization via the coordination of evaluations, procurement of samples, collection and summation of evaluator feedback, and the coordination of training and education related to the introduction of new clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Supports the identification and implementation of operational improvement strategies for clinical equipment, supplies and services. Engages with physicians, clinicians, and leadership to lead utilization initiatives that enhance clinical, operational, and financial performance across Endeavor Health's clinical supply chain, providing subject matter expertise.
  • Conduct regular rounding to proactively seek feedback from physicians, clinicians, and leadership

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art in Nursing, Health Administration or related field required.
  • License Requirements: Current RN License
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of clinical preferably in-hospital experience or relevant category management experience
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and quantitative/qualitative assessment data.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical supplies and applications, supply utilization and supply standardization using value analysis processes.
  • Capable of organizing workload and set priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to patient health information (PHI) or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced skills in spreadsheet, word and presentation applications.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary work (exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and involving sitting most of the time with occasional standing and walking)
