Overview The Instrument Technician works under general supervision to sort, disassemble, clean, assemble, and sterilize instrumentation, scopes, and supplies. The technician initiates, supports, and enforces work efforts that maximize quality, safety and service while providing optimum customer service to all hospital departments and off-sites requiring sterile supplies. Responsibilities * Manually sorts, disassembles, cleans and/or disinfect instruments, scopes and supplies by hand, washer-disinfector, ultrasonic, Steris I System (Steris), and cart washer. Loads sterilizers in prescribed manner, sets controls for specific time and temperature according to material and requirements of item being processed. Maintains assigned work areas and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe environment. Qualifications Education: High School Graduate. 1 year of experience preferred.
