JOB SUMMARY

The Service & Special Project Manager plans, performs, and coordinates all of Duro Electric's Service & Special Projects efforts by directly supervising the Service Technicians and all Special Projects staff. This role also requires a high level of customer interaction as well as business development efforts to ensure a consistent pipeline of work for the department. The manager will define and execute the business strategy for the department to create the best return on investment for Duro Electric.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical construction with at least one (1) year of experience in management
  • Must have a current Journeyman Wireman (JW) license or reciprocal license


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Requires a strong understanding of the electrical trade
  • Strong communication skills needed both verbal and written
  • Extensive knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and materials needed
  • Strong computer skills required including working knowledge of MS Office products especially programs such as MS Excel required
  • Strong business acumen and a sound understanding of financial concepts related to business success required
  • Must be able to maintain an appropriate balance of time spent both in the office and field to complete necessary job duties



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop, plan, coordinate, implement, and administer all activities within the Service & Special Projects department, including but not limited to: bidding projects, executing contracts, and assigning work to employees in the department
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives for the Service & Special Projects department with the intent to promote safe work practices, increase revenue streams, maintain and strengthen customer relations, and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide leadership to individuals reporting to the Service & Special Projects department including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, training, development, coaching, corrective action, and other activities as needed.
  • Ensures that all materials, tools, and equipment needed for the success of the department are secured and delivered in a timely fashion to guarantee production goals are met.
  • Collect feedback from clients and customers to ensure that they are satisfied with the work performed by our Service Technicians, Assistant Manager, Project Coordinator, and others that are reporting to the department.
  • Meet with current and prospective clients to build relationships and generate business leads.
  • Maintains oversight of the department's financials, ensuring that billing and collections are being done in a timely fashion to ensure proper cash flow for the department.
  • Participate in monthly cost-to-complete meetings to review project financials with the President, Controller, and accounting leads.
  • Work closely with the other senior leaders across the organization to ensure Duro Electric is operating at peek capabilities.
  • Identify risks to business performance and create mitigation strategies
  • Responsible for annual performance reviews for all employees in the department.
  • Review contractual documents on a regular basis to ensure a firm understanding of project and customer requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS



  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Need to submit to periodic background checks in accordance with customer project site requirements
  • Requires local travel to various job sites and various customer sites locations during the business day


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Working knowledge of construction software such as Bluebeam Revu, Spectrum, MS Project, Accubid, and Primavera preferred


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


  • $95,000 - $110,000 Annually
  • Benefits Day 1 - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Basic Life Insurance, Contributory Life Insurance, AD&D Insurance, HSA, FSA, FSA - Dependent Care, Long Term Disability; First of the Month - Short Term Disability
