Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing manufactured homes via auditing of manufacturers and state regulatory agencies participating in the program.

    Learn and master the federal regulations governing the manufactured housing industry.
  • Conduct in-person and remote quality audits for compliance with federal manufactured home regulations through analysis of manufacturers' records and state level agencies' records.
  • Recognize and articulate the ramifications of failures to conform with building standards on life safety and structural performance.
  • Write reports for the government client communicating audit findings and recommendations for enhanced compliance.
  • Evaluate plans of corrective action for responsiveness and effectiveness.
  • Regularly engage state officials and decision makers about how state legislative changes may affect compliance with the federal manufactured home regulations.
  • Perform regulatory and impact assessments of new federal manufactured home regulations.
  • Assist with the maintenance of internal standard operating procedures and other tracking tools.
  • Prepare trend assessments of collected data based on monitoring activities and report results.
  • Make presentations and act as a liaison with members of the industry on behalf of IBTS and the government client at national and regional meetings.
  • Travel nationwide up to two weeks per month.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree; 4-6 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • A Master's Degree or Juris Doctor is ideal, but not required.
  • Existing certification as a ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or attainment with 6 months.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat; Excel a plus.
