Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced Network Sustainment Engineer II. This is a remote opportunity.

Role Overview:

This position provides in-depth support of the company's Transport, Packet, and Management Networks and OSS functions. Will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within one of the functional areas of the organization identified in the Skill Discipline Matrix below. Design, develop, test, and implement all components, equipment, and software within the functional area of the organization. Performs administrative work relating to projects and assignments.

Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in network engineering, network administration, or network support.
  • Must have prior experience with DWDM to be considered.
  • Must have experience in Telecommunications.
  • Must have experience with one or more of the following: Ciena 6500, Cisco M6/M12, or Nokia 1830.



Ideal Qualifications:



  • Experience with transport engineering
  • A subject matter expert for Ciena Transport (6500) equipment
  • Experience with MPLS, Segment Routing, IOS/XR, etc.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • College degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 4-6 years professional level experience.
  • CCIE/CCIE Service Provider, CCNP/CCNP Service Provider, CCNA, MEF-SNCP, MEF-CECP, MEF-SDCP, CISSP, CISA, or Security+ (CompTIA) preferred.
  • 4-6 years deploying and managing OSS systems, network operations, or engineering environment or related job.
  • Understanding of either the Data, OSS, or Transport disciplines in the Skill Matrix.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed, in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.
