Compensation Range:

Anticipated Base compensation rate is in the range of $87,360.00 - $104,830.00 / Year depending on qualifications and experience.

Expectations:

Under the general direction of the Director, Risk Management Services and/or Clinical Risk Managers, the Risk Management Specialist is responsible for the program components and overall coordination of risk management services including incident reporting, investigations, problem resolution, loss control data management and analysis, and loss control educational programs.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or clinical license preferred, advanced degree strongly desired. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum 2 years' experience in either healthcare risk management, quality, regulatory, patient safety, or process improvement (PI) required risk management experience preferred. Claims handling experience preferred.
Customer service skills needed.
Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and graphical presentations required,
Complex problem-solving skills needed,
Knowledge and application of pertinent healthcare regulatory requirements and statutes.
Ability to multi-task and to effectively present data and give presentations.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred:

Current unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)

Required:

Current Healthcare Risk Management certification or within 1 year of hire/transfer

SKILLS:
Demonstrated initiative, good judgment and organizational skills
