Openshift experience - experience in maintaining, patching and monitoring clusters *Description:* Seeking a DevOps Engineer / Kubernetes Engineer Contractor to work with DevOps and development teams taking tech stacks like Java, containerize them with our CI/CD pipelines and help ensure they deploy to our dev, test and production environments. Preferred experience with Gitlab, but any DevOps pipeline experience we should be able to get up to speed quickly with. Our goal is to have them work with teams on converting from Docker containers to Openshift. This project could be broken up into phases or possibly handled as a large project with several hundred services to move. Contractor to help manage our Openshift environments. We're in need of someone with Openshift or similar experience in maintaining, patching and monitoring our clusters. This person would work closely with the DevOps team to schedule, deploy and troubleshoot workloads in that environment. They would be responsible for handling upgrades, responding to alerts on the platform and working with teams in day-to-day operations of containers in the Openshift environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Help cultivate a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery culture *Establish an automated DevOps release management pipeline (e.g., build, staging, testing, production) focused on enhancing on-going production operations *Troubleshoot delivery automation issues and find practical solutions that move projects forward in a timely manner *Develop CI/CD specific KPIs to ensure delivery performance is tracked against expected delivery timelines *Manage multiple delivery pipelines assisting the development teams where necessary while ensuring high quality solutions *Help manage workloads across our private, and semi-private cloud environments *Manage and administrate portions of our network based load balancer environments, including access points to our new microservice mesh compute environments *Skills:* Kubernetes, Automation, Devops, openshift, gitlab *Top Skills Details:* Kubernetes,Automation,Devops,openshift *Additional Skills & Qualifications:* Critical Skills/Knowledge *Experience with building and deploying containers to a production environment *Must have a solid understanding of Kubernetes deployment, management and security *Experience with Jenkins or Gitlab CI/CD pipelines *Experience with network-based load balancers *Must have a solid understanding of container-based management systems *Must have solid *nix based administration skills Ideal Skills/Knowledge Includes *Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or SUSE Rancher *Experience with cloud-based solutions is a definite plus *Experience configuring and deploying telemetry (tracing, logging and monitoring) with solutions like Logstash, Prometheus, Data Dog, or like tools *Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
