General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for aPRN Mammography Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center!

Schedule: Various shifts between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm.

As a Mammography Technologist, you will perform basic and specialized mammography views. Assists the physician in diagnostic procedures such as ductograms, stereotactic core biopsy, breast localization, and breast ultrasound procedures.

Primary Duties:

  • Performs all forms of mammography imaging. Assists physicians in diagnostic procedures such as in ductograms, stereotactic core biopsy, breast localization and breast ultrasounds. Explains procedures, screens, prepares, and positions patients for examination. Instructs patients regarding site care and precautions as required.

  • Performs examinations according to department protocols and adjusts equipment appropriately to ensure satisfactory images. Performs image photography and film processing. Reviews and evaluates completed examinations for quality and completeness.

  • Reviews diagnostic cases including patient history with Radiologist. Verifies all examinations performed utilizing MARS information system.

  • Prepares, arranges, and stocks room for next procedure. Ensures supply levels are adequate in assigned area. Communicates with appropriate individual when the department inventory has been or is approaching depletion.

  • Assists with the training and orientation of new employees and students. Collects quality control data for managers, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. Schedules, logs, and redirects patients as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Radiology and mammography.

  • 1-2 years of mammography experience.

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) registration within 1 Year.

  • Certification in mammography (ARRT RM) within 1 Year.

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
