1-Year Post-PharmD Early Talent Development Intern Program (Summer 2025-2026)- US Medical Affairs/Medical Information& Communication

Department Summary

Medical Information & Communications (MIC), a function in US Medical Affairs (USMA), focuses on broadening opportunities for patient access to our medicines by ensuring that health care stakeholders have the scientific evidence and the confidence in that evidence to make informed treatment decisions. MIC has a pivotal role in bridging internal partner functions (including USMA, Research, Product Development, Commercial, and Government Affairs) and collaborating across the dynamic health ecosystem to ultimately deliver better patient outcomes while making care more accessible and affordable for all.

This position is located in South San Francisco, On-site

The Opportunity

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Medical Affairs activities through ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects while developing key scientific and professional skills necessary for a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Build clinical knowledge of the assigned molecule/product area(s) and create medical content that is compelling, compliant, and resonates with patients, HCPs, and/or access stakeholders (e.g. standard response letters, evidence submissions, Field Medical presentations, dossiers, etc)

  • Deliver launch activities for new molecular entities and label expansions

  • As needed, provide medical review and input on the development/use of scientific and promotional materials and handle review processes in close partnership with medical partners, Commercial Regulatory, and Legal

  • Engage in short and long-term projects including technology initiatives (e.g. AI) that contribute to advancing business priorities, including a research project that is submitted and presented at a professional meeting such as the Drug Information Association

Program Highlights

  • Intensive, full time (40 hours per week) paid opportunity

  • Program length: July 7, 2025 to July 3, 2026

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution before July 1st, 2025

  • Must be within two years Post-PharmD

Required Qualifications:

  • Effective verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong clinical and analytical skills with clear examples of the ability to engage in independent work in collaborative and multidisciplinary environments

  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills; self-starter and highly motivated; demonstrates flexibility, courage, and drive for results

  • Impeccable ethics and integrity; honest, direct, and open communications

  • Proficiency in the following: Powerpoint, Excel, Word

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

  • Prior work experience, with experience in pharmaceutical industry or managed care setting preferred

  • Experience creating compelling content and storytelling delivered via various media (e.g. creating presentations, web content, emails, videos, podcasts, infographics, etc)

  • Experience with projects leveraging new technologies (e.g. AI/systems/programs)

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $40-$43 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
