Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time WMSE Account Executive to join our WMSE team. The WMSE Account Executive is responsible for managing and establishing all relationships with businesses and nonprofit organizations. The WMSE Account Executive will plan and implement their clients' on-air announcements of program sponsorship of this licensed non-commercial, public radio station owned and operated by MSOE, as well as event sponsorships and digital assets. Position reports to the Development Director.

Essential Job Functions

The WMSE Account Executive generates revenue by creating relationships with businesses that sponsor WMSE's programming, events, and digital products.

  • Creates sponsorship campaigns that benefit both the client and WMSE yet respects the identity and culture of MSOE.
  • Secures long-term and short-term sponsorship contracts from local, regional, and national business and nonprofit organizations.
  • Develops and executes a client's promotional campaign with the goal of extending and renewing contracts while providing measurable results. Responsible for scheduling, written copy of on-air sponsorship announcements, digital assets, and payments of accounts in a timely fashion.
  • Provides exemplary customer service to WMSE's existing community partners. Consistently prospects for new partners and maintains follow-up communications.
  • Works to meet sales goals including securing regular trades for hospitality focusing on establishing long-term relationships with new community partners.
  • Writes and creates comprehensive client presentations.
  • Enthusiastically advocates for WMSE in all media and communication venues.
  • Works to continually adhere to the conflict-of-Interest policy, ensuring that all personal and professional activities comply with the policy and are above reproach.


Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and collaborates with team members on event and fundraising duties, embodying the cooperative spirit essential to WMSE's success.
  • Routine public appearances on behalf of WMSE, including weekend and evening commitments.

Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree recommended.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in sales, media, marketing, nonprofit, or a similar field recommended.
  • Proficient with Word, Outlook, Excel, Google Meet, Zoom, and familiar with CRMs.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Milwaukee, including musicians, businesses, arts organizations, non-profits, neighborhoods, and people.
  • Must learn and manage WMSE's traffic system, including reconciling logs, and billing partners.
  • A working knowledge of the public radio broadcasting industry technology is desirable.
  • Valid drivers license and proof of insurance required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, including prioritization, strong interpersonal skills, and strong technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before others. Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral form.
  • Ability to use numbers to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is largely sedentary, the ability to move is required. The employee is occasionally required to traverse within their work area as well as other areas on campus. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Travel to meet with community partners and attend public events is also required.
