Description
The Coding Supervisor will supervise and oversee all related activities for the Coding Department. They will provide ongoing communication to the Coding Manager on a daily/weekly basis. Essential Functions:
- Oversee, monitor and supervise the daily coding operations.
- Direction of staff including organizational planning and development, interviewing,
selection, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, developing objectives and developing procedures to ensure achievement of objectives. - Conduct frequent, timely, and appropriate communications with employees through
meetings and one-on-one sessions; actively participate in meetings and other communications processes; share information timely, accurately and completely with others, as needed. - Resolves work related issues or assists employees in solving work related issues.
- Assist with frequent coder coding audits to ensure consistent quality coding adhering to
applicable federal, state, local and private requirements, and while complying with Revo coding policy and procedures. Provide feedback to Coders with results for both positive feedback and any opportunities for improvement in conjunction with coding educators. - Assist with frequent provider (e.g., physician, PA, scribes, etc.) documentation
audit/reviews to ensure consistent quality coding adhering to applicable federal, state, local and private requirements, and while complying with Revo coding policy and procedures. Provide feedback to the providers with results for both positive feedback and any opportunities for improvement in conjunction with coding educators and coding manager. - Assists manager with quality, service and budgetary initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, etc. (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, OSHA,
employment laws); company policies and procedures; business ethics; etc. - Occasionally participate in community functions relating to outreach events throughout
the year. - Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- 2-3 years management experience required
- Preferred Coding Certification (CPC, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA) and minimum (5) years'
coding experience in related Healthcare setting - Integrity Service Quality Innovation Teamwork

movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required - Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet
deadlines - Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions - Understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to other work locations, if required
