Design Engineer II- Battery New Product Development

This Design Engineer II primary role uses engineering expertise and knowledge to contribute to the design and development of new to world battery products in a fast paced rapid growing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Main project technical resource on battery new product development
  • Provide clear engineering information to Project Leaders and the Global Engineering teams facilitating trade off decisions cross functionally as well as marketing.
  • Ability to handle mid to low complexity projects individually
  • Develop and maintain build test plans and methods between milestones to ensure project efficiency
  • Serve as a technical resource on areas of expertise
  • Experience using engineering problem solving methods (FEA, DOE, Fishbone, FMEA, GD&T) to derive root cause and potential solutions

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 years of design experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD - ProE, Solidworks, NX, or similar as well as FEA.
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge, problem solving, and experience in process development and design evaluation.
  • Experience with manufacturing process - Injection molding, stamping, and plating
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (travel includes Domestic and International).
  • High interest in tools of the construction trades.
