The anticipated salary range for this role is between $97,000.00and $156,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

Gather business requirements from various product stakeholders and lead the development planning of assigned technical products. Conduct market and technical research and analysis to inform the feature set and performance requirements. Oversee testing and QA processes. Collect feedback and performance data and priotize the backlog of bug fixes and functional improvements.

Role Objectives: Delivery

Participate in gathering business requirements from various stakeholders and, incorporating the larger strategic and tactical direction of the firm, support the translation into a set of features and user stories for a specified product. Conduct research and analysis of external and internal factors and develop recommendations for feature prioritization and product design. Suggest KPIs to evaluate the success of product objectives. Review development backlog and identify items in need of prioritization to meet MVP criteria and complete user stories. Conduct User Acceptance Testing and flag exceptions during testing. Collects testing feedback and plans for the resolution of identified issues. Monitor product performance using selected KPIs to identify areas for improvement. Participates in discussion with development team to set agenda for refinements and improvements to the product. Support incident response to product issues and act as a liaison between stakeholders to facilitate communication and resolution.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Work with business units and product stakeholders to provide insight and guidance for the development of business requirements and technical specifications. Support Product Managers and Development team leads with the review and prioritization of bug fixes, feature requests and updates, user experience design items, code sprints, and releases. Work with IT Quality Assurance team to conduct user testing, review findings, and ensure product releases meet established quality controls and standards. Maintain communication and relationships with various product stakeholders to gain insight into user experience and be responsive to changes in needs or demand. Assist IT Service Delivery and Performance Monitoring teams with reviewing product performance and monitoring to identify issues in real-time.

Role Objectives: Expertise

Demonstrate skill with project and product lifecycle management. Show ability to coordinate tasks and deliverables across multiple cross-functional teams. Display a basic understanding of various development frameworks such as Scrum, Agile, and DevOps, as well as their optimal use case and implementation. Exhibit functional knowledge of business operations and functions, as well as market environment and industry trends, to support the intelligent development of KPIs, functions, user stories, and business use cases. Show foundational understanding of QA, user testing design, and change and release management to ensure products meet established quality controls and performance standards.
