Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Two (2) years of field surveying experience.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
Key Responsibilities

  • Operates survey instruments and equipment used in surveying and mapping activities for the City. Operates Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers for citywide GPS observations.
  • Maintains and cares for all surveying instruments, updates data, maintains vehicles as assigned, and directs survey crew activities as required.
  • Researches support documentation for field and office surveying activities and maintains the City's computerized benchmark database and creates reports.
  • This position ensures that work meets the requirements of Chapter 472 of the Florida Statutes, Land Surveying and Mapping, and the Standards of Practice in Chapter 5J-17 of the Florida Administrative Code.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
