Job Summary

Candidates residing in the following states can be considered for remote work: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia.

As an education team member, the Instructional Designer (ID) works with other education team members to develop and deploy educational solutions. The Instructional Designer also consults with organizational stakeholders to learn needs, identify barriers, and recommend effective education solutions that improve performance and meet business objectives. The position is a hybrid role in which, at times, the employee will work on-site at Carilion facilities and sometimes from their home. The initial training period requires daily travel to Roanoke for orientation and onboarding activities.

The ideal candidate may have:

  • experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, and & ISpring.
  • experience creating visually clean designs using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign tools.
  • experience setting goals and driving measurable outcomes.
  • experience in video production and editing.

Applicants selected for an interview need to submit a portfolio of materials they've developed. During the interview, applicants will be asked to showcase and discuss the work in their portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Preferred- Master's degree in Instructional Design. In place of education, relevant work experience can suffice.

Experience: A candidate should possess at least five years of instructional design experience and have the following:

  • designed both online and instructor-led classes.
  • advanced skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • ability to consult with stakeholders, identify needs, and determine solutions.

Licenses/Certifications: None required. Relevant training certifications preferred such as C.P.LP., Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Other: Candidate should:

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and work well in a team.
  • Be able to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines and remain flexible amid changing priorities.
