Job Description Summary
The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Diversity works closely with the VP for Diversity to research, design, promote, implement and facilitate programs and initiatives focused on advancing equity, diversity and inclusion at Lewis University, a diverse Catholic and Lasallian Hispanic-Serving Institution of higher education.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education

Specifically, the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Diversity will:
-Establish a social media presence for the Office of Diversity
-Help with Office of Diversity event preparations, both virtually and in-person (room reservations, catering, tech check, programs, registration, attendance record, pre-and post-event surveys, et cetera).
-Serve as a liaison for relevant student groups (student feedback loop for Office of Diversity)
-Be a thought-partner for student engagement (graduate and undergraduate)
-Assist in establishing affinity groups for graduate students
-Help create a monthly newsletter for the Office of Diversity
-Assist with grant research and preparation to support Office of Diversity and HSI funding opportunities
-Facilitate Office of Diversity workshops and events on some weekend and evenings to support students who can only attend co-curricular and social support offerings outside the workday weekday hours of 8-5pm at the Romeoville and Oakbrook campuses
-Represent the Office of Diversity in surrounding Romeoville community events as needed
-Other duties as assigned.

The Graduate Assistant reports to the Vice President for Diversity
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled graduate student at Lewis University, Familiarity with social media outlets (instagram etc.). Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent organization and time-management skills. Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing. Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
