Job Description Summary
The Brother Jeffrey Gros Institute for Dialogue, Justice & Social Action, grounded in our Catholic and Lasallian heritage, brings together ecumenical, interfaith, and secular collaborations to advance action toward social justice.

The Graduate Assistant will report to the Director and Associate Director of the Gros Institute and will provide support for marketing, communication, data collection and analysis, program implementation, and other tasks associated with the maintenance and growth of the Gros Institute.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education

Become familiar with origins and heart of Gros Institute.
Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director to produce and disseminate marketing and promotional materials (i.e., flyers, brochures, etc.) for Gros Institute and Peace & Justice Studies initiatives and events
-Get posters stamped by Student Services
-Put posters around campus (or ask Student Services & Res Life to do so for us)
-Get hard copies to various colleges for their initial faculty meetings

Maintain public resources for the Gros Institute including Lewis website presence, social media engagement, and membership database and listserv
-Use past event registrations to identify persons/groups to whom to market the next event
-Start using grosinstitute@lewisu.edu with regularity for email mailings and marketing materials; responsible for coordinating communication related to this email address
-Create social media space(s) for Gros Institute - in communication with Tracy Hemmingway (CoHFAC) (or other Communication Specialist for Gros Institute)
-Track ongoing registration for events including the annual Gros Memorial Event and the annual The FIRE (Interfaith Forum)
Coordinate the creation of interactive website to engage members and grow interest among potential partners and constituents
-Recommendations for website from student perspective
-Create interactive (short) videos and photos with informative captions that make website more dynamic
Assist in production of triannual reports in collaboration with the Director of the Institute for the Gros Institute Advisory Board
-Attend tri-annual, virtual Board meetings
Represent the Gros Institute and Peace & Justice Studies at promotional opportunities
-Stay aware of campus recruiting events or other opportunities to share the work of the Gros Institute and the opportunity to major or minor in Peace & Justice Studies
-Network with current students and PJS alums
-Facilitate student initiatives that are justice-focused.
-Communicate with alums - community-building and invitation to events
Collect (in a list) and promote PJS Electives prior to fall and spring registration weeks
-Create list each semester of offered core and elective courses for advising
-Market PJS offerings
Support RJ Council and Circle trainings
-Attend RJ Council meetings
-Assist in coordination and preparation of 3-Day Peace Circle Keeper Trainings, 1-Day Refresher Workshops, and 1-Day Admin Workshops, or other trainings developed by the RJ Council
Minimum Qualifications
Enrollment in a Lewis University graduate degree program
-Ability to be independently driven and self-motivated
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Openness to collaboration with a team, including receiving and giving constructive feedback
-Technologically savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), graphic design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign or similar) along with an understanding of social media platforms
-Ability to create artistically imaginative graphic design pieces

Work hours
Minimum of 20 hours of work per week to fulfill their duties as assigned; year round position. These would be flexible according to the GAs class schedule and shared office availability.
