1st Shift, Mon - Fri, 6am - 2pm $19 - $23 BOE Building pantographs from the frame up and also assembly of smaller products such as grounding units, bus rails, use of power tools (torque wrench) to build and assemble per drawings/schematics The main job function is to build/assemble Pantographs (current collectors). More "building" than simple assembly. Pantographs are assemblies that are mounted to electric trains, trams, trolleys as well as battery driven vehicles such as electric buses that make contact with the power lines or charging stations. This is our largest business unit and also will be the fastest growing with the emerging market in Battery Driven Vehicles such as e-buses. The candidate will use electric and air tools and torque wrenches to assemble and test these products; and refurbish them too. It's fairly skilled and technical work, so they have to have experience or knowledge with building things from drawings. We can train someone with good mechanical ability and experience. This is a cool job for someone who likes to work with larger, more complex assemblies. And they will become more skilled and higher paid over time. This is not a job for someone who has small assembly experience (wire harnessing, small and simple parts assembly and finishing). | |
