Position: Production Associate
Location: Waynesville, NC
Wage: $18.17/hour + $2 shift differential pay for Night shift
Shift: Day and Night 12 hour shifts

While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, as an inspector packer you will be responsible for packing thermoformed trays in a quick and safe manner.

What you'll be doing:

  • Retrieve parts from trim press
  • Place parts in specified relationship to each other
  • Inspect stacks of parts for defects
  • Place parts in bag, seal bag and place in corrugated boxes
  • Tend machines, such as trim press and pack station parts handling equipment
  • Cut and stack sheet when needed
  • Grind sheet and trays as needed
  • Build and/or stage all packaging material per Product Specification
  • Fill out label and flow bills correctly
  • Use pallet jacks to place skids of product in warehouse
  • Assist Operator when starting line
  • Help train new employees when necessary
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to correctly follow housekeeping policy
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor
  • Overtime required at times

  • Previous experience in packing/warehousing is extremely helpful
  • You have to have a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
  • To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
  • Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
  • You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
  • You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • You will need to able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
  • You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • No prior manufacturing experience required.

Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.
