Summary:
This position provides primary support to the provider by proactively anticipating the provider needs, preparing the patient for the visit using established patient preparation guidelines, maintaining efficient patient flow, and assisting the provider with treatments and procedures. Performs procedures with completed and documented competency within the PHS policy and under the supervision of a provider. Provides support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, arriving patients for appointments, transcribing order, editing referrals, and linking referrals, HAR building and prior authorizations. Performs activities to maintain a clean, stocked, safe, and well-organized patient care environment. Provides in-basket support with the EMR. This position reports to the Clinic Manager.



Qualifications

*Specialized training in clinical medical skills such as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Tech or military medic program from an accredited school or military organization

*Maintains current knowledge base in skin/wound care and departmental policies.

*High School Diploma or GED

*Licensure in healthcare related field preferred

*BLS Certification required at time of hire.
