High school degree or GED, Active NM Board of Pharmacy license required, National Pharmacy Technician Certification, Three years experience in pharmacy, preferably in pharmacy purchasing

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
*Ensure adequate stock of pharmaceuticals.

*Serves as supplier and purchasing consultant to regional hospitals and clinics.

*Ensures contract compliance and correct pricing for all purchases.

*Provide pharmacy administration with monthly financial, purchasing and issues reports.

*Conducts monthly controlled substance audits, makes recommendations on better control of narcotics.

*Interacts with pharmaceutical representatives to ensure adequate service levels.

*Researches short supply items, finding alternative sources and obtains emergency pharmaceuticals when required.

*Communicates with pharmacy staff on availability of pharmaceuticals.

*Processes all drug recalls and checks stock for recalled items.

*Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.

*Reviews wholesaler reports for unpaid invoices. Tracks invoices with Accounts Payable.

*Conducts complete inventories of stock, completes reports

*Oversees the return of pharmaceuticals to reverse distributors.
