Director of DDS Community and Employment Services

SUMMARY

Directs the daily operations of DDS-funded day programs, ensuring all service provisions for individuals enrolled are met effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develops and implements new service options using various funding sources.
• Acts as liaison with community agencies, funding sources, and institutions.
• Stays informed on trends related to individuals with disabilities and adjusts programs accordingly.
• Creates work settings and vocational alternatives as needed.
• Receives supervision from the VP of DDS Community and Employment Services.
• Reviews staffing patterns to ensure programs are adequately staffed.
• Supervises, trains, and supports Coordinators and Managers in program administration and planning.
• Ensures programs meet staffing requirements and operate within budget.
• Develops policies, quality control systems, and communication procedures.
• Participates in hiring staff and reviews requisitions for supplies.
• Builds relationships with providers and funding sources, networking on program development strategies.
• Oversees referral and admission processes.
• Assists in writing program goals and communicates with the business office regarding contracts and financial matters.
• Develops systems to enhance the quality of life for individuals served.
• Provides in-service training and ensures staff meet training requirements.
• Promotes community-based programs and person-centered supports, ensuring service plans reflect the needs and goals of individuals served.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides supervision to Coordinators and Program Managers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field; or 6+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in community-based programs for individuals with developmental disabilities/behavioral health challenges.
• Experience in program development and supervisory roles in day services.

SALARY

• $50,000/yr. Rate increases to $55,575/yr after 6 month introductory period.
