TEKsystems is seekign a data center technician for one of our clients in the Seattle area who has a long-term contract opening. This job is fully on-site in Seattle, and the working hours expected are 7:30am to 4pm Monday thru Friday. There may be occasional requests to work evenings. (There is some flexibility with start and end times but will be Monday through Friday.) We are looking for candidates with the following skills: * 3 to 5 years of experience working in Data Center, MDF, and IDF environments * Experience auditing and documenting structured cabling * Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber and copper cable runs * Experience with DCIM tools (Nlyte preferred but not required) Description: Has worked 3 to 5 years in data centers, MDFs and IDFs. Comfortable working in Excel (Our cut sheets are Excel spreadsheets.) and Outlook. It would be helpful if person, has worked with Nlyte application. (Nlyte is our DCIM tool.) Is familiar with cut sheets for installing equipment, rack equipment, run fiber and copper patch cables, understands importance of labeling devices and cables, verify connections are up, troubleshoot fiber, cat6 and twinax connections. Can plan decommissions of equipment and cabling using extracts from Nlyte. Skills:* Data center, Cable, Racking, Stacking, Hardware, Rack and stack, Cat6, Cat5, Cabling, Infrastructure, DCIM, Nlyte Additional Skills & Qualifications: Detail oriented and fanatical about organized cable management. Works well with others. Well organized and self-motivated to complete tasks assigned.
