The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $170,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan Application Window Open date: November 12, 2024 Most recent review date: Wednesday, Nov 27, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Davis Department of Radiology is recruiting for a full-time clinical medical physicist with expertise in Nuclear Medicine at the Assistant rank in the In Residence series or Clinical "X" series. Faculty in the In Residence series are expected to engage in teaching, independent research, and creative work, demonstrate professional competence and activity, and provide University and public service. Faculty in the Clinical "X" series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. The successful candidate will actively support the clinical imaging operation to ensure top-quality clinical service, working with physicians to address issues such as those relating to clinical image quality. The primary focus of these activities will be on Nuclear Medicine imaging platforms with support on other imaging modalities as needed. Experience in Radiation therapy and Radiation Oncology physics is also desired, as the Medical Physicist may be the interface between the Departments of Radiology and Radiation Oncology for imaging studies. The physicist will be responsible for instrumentation physics, shielding design, and accreditation evaluations to ensure compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements. They will direct and oversee quality control and assurance, dose calculations, and treatment planning. They will advise and assist with transitions to new systems, including new hardware, new quality control, and new protocols.
