Your Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Program Manager to develop and then oversee and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards related to our farming operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing farm operating programs, conducting audits, and providing training to staff to maintain high standards of integrity and ethics.

What You'll Do:



  • Develop and implement Accelerator Farm's operating manual and SOP's.
  • Design, in conjunction with L&D team, a training and learning program for incoming farm associates.
  • Laise with compliance team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal agricultural regulations, environmental laws, and animal welfare standards applicable to farming operations.
  • Create, in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders, programming for farm visitors and onboarding groups.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain farm programs and policies to promote a culture of compliance across all company farms.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of farming operations to assess compliance with regulations and company policies. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • In conjunction with related teams, oversee implementation of farm safety program, research and development projects, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance-related topics, including regulations, best practices, and ethical conduct.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and training sessions. Prepare and submit reports to senior management and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposure to regulatory penalties and reputational damage.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards. Institute improvements to policies and practices to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as operations, legal, and people team, to ensure alignment on accelerator farm initiatives and address any compliance-related issues
  • In conjunction with Farm Managers, continuously identify educational and learning opportunities for accelerator farm team members.
  • Develops and implements biosecurity program for all farms and works closely with state veterinarian on approval and audits for biosecurity.
  • Conducts monthly visits to all Accelerator Farms.
  • Oversees auxiliary livestock management program.


What You Bring to the Table:



  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in the agricultural or food production sector. Preferably in compliance management or policy development roles.
  • Ability to travel 20-25% for company events, team meetings, and business needs.
  • Located within commutable distance to all barn locations within Southern Indiana and Northwest Kentucky
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural regulations, environmental laws, and animal welfare standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
