Candidates must have advanced expertise in group and solo performance of Armenian woodwinds, specifically practice of double-reed duduk and fipple (end-blown) flute shvi. Candidate will be expected to direct performance ensembles and teach lecture classes and seminars on key concepts within the framework of native pedagogy, having students develop performance technique and musicality in tandem with a critical understanding of Armenian vernacular culture and political histories. The position requires expertise in developing curriculum and interacting with the Armenian community on various cultural and educational initiatives. University teaching experience and a PhD in ethnomusicology or related field are preferred.
