fama.uark.edu Summary of Job Duties:The Journeyman Painter prepares and paints the interior and exterior of buildings. Prepares for senior sidewalks (sandblasting names into concrete), making corrections on senior sidewalk, etc.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least five years of experience as a painter

  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least eight years experience as a Journeyman Painter

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades

  • Knowledge of the accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the various skilled trades

  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to one or more of the skilled trades

  • Ability to provide mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates for one or more of the skilled trades

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to maintain inventory on needed parts and tools for one or more of the skilled trades

$44,000 - $48,000 commensurate with experience and licensure
