Summary of Job Duties:Campus police officers promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty and staff as a uniformed presence on campus Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified as a law enforcement officer by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards Training Academy, or a similar academy, in accordance with ACA 12-9-106
  • Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
  • 3 to 5 years experience as an officer required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Ability to successfully conduct security patrols without direct supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete routine paperwork.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Skill in performing building security and lock procedures.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures.
  • Skill in providing protection services to individuals on campus.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
