Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Training Support Specialist for Northern NJ Medication-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence.The Training Support Specialist assists with planning, organizing, and implementation of educational and training initiatives of the Northern NJ Medication-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence ( COE). This role provides education and/or mentorship regarding assessment and interventions for substance-use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues to Newark-based shelters, housing stakeholders, Office-Based Addiction Treatment providers and their ancillary staff, and other stakeholders across the State of New Jersey.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, health studies, social sciences or a related discipline plus two (2) years of related experience required, or an equivalent combination of educations and experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills and experience providing training and/or presentations in a professional setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for diversity and individual needs.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Canva, developing virtual learning presentations, facilitating virtual meetings and experience providing in-person presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel *
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to maintain privacy and neutrality.
  • Ability to travel throughout City of Newark, Essex County, and areas in Northern NJ

Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS; Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes both office-based services, hospital-based settings and community outreach. Individual wellness checks and crisis intervention required. Subject to unpredictable situations, patient crises, to include behavioral, medical and psychiatric crisis.
