Major/Essential Functions


  • Advise students, parents, high school counselors and other entities on the financial aid process through in-office meetings, front counter, special events, orientation and presentations.
  • Oversee, manage, and mentor Financial Aid advising team. Provide training to staff as needed.
  • Monitor policies and procedures specific to areas of client services to ensure compliance with respect to Title IV federal student aid for each area/specific function within the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  • Make adjustments to student financial aid awards in an effort to maintain compliance with federal and state programs.
  • Represent student financial aid and Texas Tech University at recruiting, outreach and scholarship events throughout the state.
  • Attend local and University events as a representative of TTU Student Financial Aid.
  • Assist Director of Student Services as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Financial Aid knowledge and experience
  • Banner experience
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with university level counseling/advising
