The School of Arts and Sciences (

Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Psychology department within the School of Arts & Sciences. This position is for a Research Project Assistant working in a new neuroscience lab run Dr. Philip Parker. This position will play a critical role in getting the lab started and ensuring we are able to begin and maintain our research activities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs experiments measuring and manipulating neural activity during behavior or in ex vivo preparations in mice.
- Supports daily activities and personnel in the lab, including managing a mouse colony, files, databases, and physical and electronic materials in an accurate and organized fashion.
- Creates study protocols for new studies.
- Develops experimental stimuli and materials.
- Manages data.
- Creates data analysis pipelines.
- Proofreads research publications and grants.

- jsPsych (and some JavaScript), PsychoPy (and some Python), Qualtrics, R, and Excel for building experimental protocols and organizing and analyzing data.
