Field Technician
needed for an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Fairbanks, AK.

You will be supporting multiple programs/systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) who can perform installation and maintenance on a variety of Networking and Telecommunication equipment at customer locations. The position requires daily commuting to and from customer locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area. Field technicians must be able to work independently with little supervision and possess good written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities


  • Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADSB, DCNS, WMSS and others) L3Harris supports for the FAA.
  • Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers remote locations.
  • Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area.
  • Occasionally travel to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or request.
  • Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders.


Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with logging into network equipment and circuit testing using a verity of different test equipment/laptop.
  • 3- 5+ years of experience working with fiber, Carrier Ethernet, Multiplexes, DACS, Routers/Switches, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice, and Data applications.
  • Must be customer focused, have outstanding organization/time management skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, and the ability to function independently as well as part of a larger team.
  • Organization skills are essential.
  • Thorough knowledge and working ability with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Web usage.
  • Must have excellent writing and spelling abilities.

In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate range for this role is $31.00 to $45.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.

Employment Pre-requisites

The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: Successful completion of a background investigation, and drug urinalysis.
