The Bureau of Driver Licensing is seeking a Clerical Assistant 3 to join the Driver Safety & Improvement unit. Your role involves a diverse range of clerical tasks and support functions essential to the unit's operations. The unit is responsible for managing information related to customers needing departmental hearings, special point exams, administrative hearings, drivers' improvement school, and limited licenses. Your efforts will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our services, making your work both meaningful and rewarding. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assess and analyze driver records, legal documents, and related communications. You will take necessary actions to address issues or escalate them when needed. Actions may involve removing points or adjusting driving records based on the information provided, but these changes require managerial approval. You will also be responsible for updating and managing statewide exam schedules and departmental hearings for the Bureau of Driver Licensing, using the department's Information Management System. You will collaborate closely with managers, Driver License Examiners, Driver Safety Examiners, and Driver License Centers. Additionally, you will evaluate end-of-course skills test results and process information accordingly. Your understanding of vehicle codes and laws, including the point system and bureau transaction codes, will guide you in making informed decisions to amend driving records. This includes actions like deleting points, restoring, or suspending driving privileges, processing waivers, and rescheduling hearings. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
