DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will perform a wide variety of advanced mechanical engineering duties in support of statewide corrections institutions. Some key responsibilities of the position include developing solutions to operation, maintenance, design, or construction problems, which require advanced or innovative mechanical engineering principles and methods. In this role, you are a mechanical engineering expert, and serve as project coordinator on construction projects contracted to retained professional, licensed engineers; or designed in-house. - Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to an office in Mechanicsburg. Please note, telework agreements are subject to change.
- Work location: DOC Central Office located at 1920 Technology Parkway in
- Mechanicsburg, PA.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2; or
- Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires the possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
