DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Public Health Program Administrator in the Local Health Department Office, you will oversee the planning, development, and evaluation of public health programs. This work includes setting program goals and objectives, developing policies and procedures, and interpreting and applying regulations. Additionally, you will monitor performance metrics and indicators, allocate resources, and design and implement quality assurances measures.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the review and processing of invoices from local health departments for the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity COVID-19 funding. You will work closely with the Public Health Program Manager to ensure efficient and effective use of resources. You will also act as the main point of contact and project lead for the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity COVID-19 Program, working with various departments and offices within the state government to gather input and establish policies and direction for local health departments. Though you leadership and expertise, you will play a key role in promoting and protecting the health of Pennsylvanians.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Work hours are flexible.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
