DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will ensure that aircraft maintenance operations are carried out safely and efficiently to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include assisting with aircraft inspections, which may involve disassembling parts to access key components. You will perform visual inspections of the airframe, components, and accessories of department aircraft and provide essential services such as lubrication and maintenance. Additionally, you will adjust flight and engine controls to ensure optimal performance and carry out a wide range of repairs, including sheet metal, fiberglass, paint, bonding, and parts replacement. You will also troubleshoot and resolve performance issues experienced by pilots, ensuring the aircraft operates at peak efficiency.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: This position does not offer telework.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as an aircraft mechanic; including completion of an accredited course in aircraft mechanics; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a standard high school or vocational school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a current Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be willing and able to learn and work on Bell 407 aircraft.
  • You must possess fixed wing experience.
  • You must possess a current Class C driver's license.
  • You must be willing to travel out of state for aircraft factory training.
  • You must be willing to travel within the Commonwealth to provide off-site maintenance.
  • You must have served as a mechanic under FAA certificate and ratings, either as a mechanic or mechanic supervisor within the last 24 months.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • PC-12 Pilatus experience
  • Cessna 208 experience
  • Beechcraft King air experience
  • Computerized maintenance, inventory, and parts tracking experience

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
