Key Responsibilities:

As the Architectural Director, you will lead and coordinate an architectural/engineering team, preparing documents for aviation focused projects. You will oversee both the initial and detailed phases of architectural design, requiring extensive collaboration with various disciplines, clients, and consultants. Your role will include preparing architectural plans and supervising their execution to ensure the highest standards of design quality.

You will conduct thorough analyses of design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts, and construction details. This role involves overseeing research for writing specifications and coordinating with manufacturers to ensure all materials and systems meet project requirements.

Your expertise in code analysis, material selection, and technical solutions will be essential in delivering cutting-edge designs.

Required Experience:

  • Professional Degreein Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred)
  • Minimum of15 years of experience as a project designer working within the aviation sector.
  • Aviation Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required.
  • Experience in the transportation sector is required.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Unreal Engine, Microsoft Office Suite are required.
  • Experience in 3-D Max, Sketch-up is a plus and LEED Accreditation is also a plus.
  • Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential. The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem-solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Create cutting-edge transit designs with transit studio director.
  • Determine collectively with multiple design disciplines, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
  • Lead and coach architectural staff
  • Registered Architect is a plus but not required.
  • Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
  • Develop design details, plans and specifications.
  • Serve as quality control reviewer.
  • Use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems.
  • Contribute new designs, or techniques that are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
  • Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc.
  • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
  • Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).

Compensation Range:

$160,926.84 - $214,569.12
