Engineering Manager - Hardware Development

Position Overview: As the Engineering Manager for Hardware Development, you will lead a team responsible for high-speed PCB design, test development, discrete analog circuit design, and embedded system design. You will report directly to the Senior Systems Engineering Manager and play a crucial role in the design and development of Engineering Evaluation Boards (EEVBs) and test infrastructure.

We seek candidates who demonstrate a passion for learning, initiative, curiosity, and engineering ingenuity. A positive attitude and a strong disposition for teamwork are essential.

Location: this position can be based in Austin, TX, or Nashua, NH.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and development of high-speed PCBs for EEVBs, including discrete analog circuits.

* Oversee the development of test routines for validation and characterization in Visual Studio .NET.

* Lead the design and development of test infrastructure for the laboratory; oversee its assembly.

* Manage the design of embedded systems.

* Oversee pre-silicon activities, including setting up verification flows and planning validation tasks.

* Manage and perform post-silicon activities, including chip-bring up, initial block validation, and system/chip-level validation.

* Adapt validation tests into comprehensive test flows for device characterization.

* Manage and derive device electrical specifications for datasheets through device characterization.

* Support sustaining products, including quality-related matters such as RMAs.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's with 6+ years of experience.

* Strong technical background in high-speed PCB design, test development, discrete analog circuit design, and embedded system design.

* Proven experience in personnel management, with a focus on performance management, ownership, and accountability.

* Excellent mentoring skills and a positive disposition.

* Direct management experience is preferred, but technical lead roles with the right disposition will also be considered.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$112,500 -$215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
