SUBJECT: JOB OPENING - FLEET We have the following job available in the Distribution Department: JOB TITLE: Truck Jockey # OF OPENINGS ONE (1) BASE RATE/HOUR: $29.73 - (Trip Rate if Subbing as a Driver) HOURS: Normally start - 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. (Hours vary with production schedule) Must be able to work overtime. Start and end times may be adjusted based on business needs. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Truck Jockey, under the general supervision of a Fleet Supervisor, is responsible for the safe and efficient moving of tractor trailers in the yard and will be used as a substitute for the fleet drivers when needed. This individual is also responsible for safely and efficiently handling finished product.
Scope of Responsibility
Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required. Professional Licenses or Certifications CLD Class A Driver's license DOT Medical Card Must be able to pass required driving test and DOT checks Candidate selection will be based on ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation (as demonstrated by a passing score on the Physical Capacity Screening). Although seniority is a primary consideration for awarding regular hourly (i.e., non-Key Operator) positions, consideration will also be given to attendance record, safety record, disciplinary record, quality of work, peer relationships, job performance, previous work history and experience. The position will be awarded to the most senior qualified bidder who has successfully passed Physical Capacity Screening and other requirements, if required for the position and if all other of the above criterion being considered are equal among candidates.
