Develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manager the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.
MINIMUM Educational Requirements: Must have at least one (1) of the following:
- Associate's Degree or higher in any subject; OR,
- Completion of Registered Arborist Apprenticeship
MINIMUM Occupation Requirements: Must have
four years (8,000 hours) of work experience in Arboriculture, Forestry, Urban Forestry and related
fields.
In addition, one of the following must be met:
- At least one year of work experience must have occurred within the last 5 years; OR,
- At least two years of teaching in Arboriculture or related field at the post-secondary level
REQUIRED Industry or Vender Certification:
- International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist required
- Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) pesticide certification at time of hire or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Required Licensure:
- Class D Driver's license in good standing
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the minimum education, experience and certifications/licenses required above:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Board Master Certified Arborist
- Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the Spring 2025 semester (approx. mid-January)
This is an LTE position and will end May 24, 2025.
Hours/Location:
This is a full-time faculty position
and will require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and/or online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Hours are based on enrollment and departmental need.
Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin, performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited. Modality is IN-PERSON.
Salary: Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2024/2025 rates and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
Interviews: Selected qualified candidates will be invited to first interview for this position in person. Information regarding the second round of interviews will be provided to selected candidates.
