Certified Emergency Medic - Fulltime Nights 7pm-7am Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. Services provided at the hospital include emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health services. Visit us online at: https://www.aikenregional.com Certified Emergency Medic works in a full service Emergency Department (ED), treating all ages. This roles assumes the responsibility for assisting with the implementation of supportive nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Medical Director. The Certified Emergency Medic provides patient care within a defined scope of practice that includes patient care/observation, specified treatments and procedures; provision of environmental and personal safety, and effective communication. The Certified Emergency Medic will also be responsible to collect pertinent data within their certification of responsibilities and report these clinical, psychosocial, etc., findings to the RN or ED Medical Director and charts appropriately. Works in collaboration with RNs and Medical Providers to provide patient care to adult and trauma patients utilizing advanced skills and judgment. Certified Emergency Medic will be responsible for ECG interpretation, IV therapy, airway patency, and initiation of approved protocol orders and guidelines of care for patients in the ED setting. Qualifications Requirements: Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an approved EMT-P program Work experience requirements: Preferred- One year experience in a hospital setting as a Paramedic or two years experience as a Paramedic in a pre-hospital setting. Required licenses/ certifications/courses Completion of an approved EMT-P program and current certification as a Paramedic in the State of South Carolina. BLS required on hire; ACLS and PALS within 90 days and PHTLS within 6 months of hire. CPI required within 90 days of hire. Required skills, knowledge and abilities: Completion of a basic arrhythmia or monitor tech class within 90 days or successfully passes dysrhythmia testing with 100%.
