The HR/Payroll Analyst supports administrative and analytical needs within the HR departments. This role will focus on analyzing, processing, and providing HR and Payroll support and insights to drive data-informed decisions. The HR/Payroll Analyst will also maintain compliance with legal standards, company policies, and provide auditing, reporting and data for HR/Payroll metrics. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to work with confidential information professionally and with discretion.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $25.71 - $35.99 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure resort-wide compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, most particularly California Wage and Hour.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers; troubleshoot as needed to determine if/how any issue needs to be escalated.
  • Ability to work and support a flex work schedule, to include some weekends and holidays.
  • Comply with and enforce internal deadlines; coordinate with corporate level payroll team.
  • Assist the resort level Time Admin in researching and resolving any pay issues or discrepancies pertaining to a paycheck and/or the general ledger caused by time entry. Coordinate with finance and accounting departments, as needed for reconciliation.
  • Prepare and review payroll and time reports on a regular cadence, as well as additional ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Collect, manipulate, analyze, and report on HR and Payroll metrics, such as turnover rates, compensation, time worked, and workforce demographics.
  • Effectively present data to provide insights to HR and resort senior leadership for decision-making and policy development.
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee records in HRIS system.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for HR and Payroll workflows.
  • Fosters a data-driven decision-making environment and shares best HR and Payroll practices with peers and other departments.

  • Advanced Excel user (pivot, graphs, formulae).
  • Strong database analysis skills with the ability to understand how data is organized in multiple systems and how to retrieve appropriate data from source systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:
  • Two years of experience in payroll administration, HR analysis, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, HR processes, FLSA guidelines and CA State labor laws.
  • Proficiency with Workday and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree or certification in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Familiarity with HCM and time-tracking systems.
  • Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred.
