Description

Accountant

$65 - 80K Full-time

Responsibilities and Essentials



  • Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and key financial records
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing through the preparation and review of ledgers and journal entries
  • Assist and validate invoice preparation to customers
  • Perform monthly accounting analysis and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and conduct monthly review with Finance Director
  • Collaborate and work closely with key contacts in other departments to resolve reconciling differences and unrecorded transactions
  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing cost standards and prepare reports to track variances monthly.
  • Review all changes made to BOMS for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist Inventory Manager with compliance of inventory cycle count policy
  • Review month-end inventory and prepare adjusting entries for accurate inventory valuation
  • Coordinate and complete internal and external accounting audits to include preparing schedules, and providing supporting data and explanations.
  • Support the preparation of financial presentations for Board meetings, monthly performance reports, and budget/forecast discussions
  • Assist as required with tax package preparation
  • Create a wide variety of ad hoc reports.
  • Proactively analyze and evaluate the business. Propose opportunities for cost improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, ideally in an aerospace manufacturing setting
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, methods, and practices in accordance with GAAP
  • Strong Excel and computer skills; comfortable with multiple tools, programs and platforms
  • Experience with ERP conversions a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to summarize business results in a manner tailored to the audience
  • Highly collaborative with good leadership skills; able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
