Responsibilities
The Manager, Radiation Oncology is a professional leader who has 24/7 accountability for a patient care area/department with a focus on safe effective patient care, maintaining a just culture, oversight of daily treatment operations, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. Demonstrates effective leadership in the management of the radiation therapists, registrars, and physician secretaries. Maintains knowledge of all equipment and software. Creates/supervises processes to improve department charge reconciliation by acting as a liaison with the billing, coding, and financial counselors. Maintains commitment to departmental goals by upholding accreditation and contractual commitment readiness. Assists with patient/employee/physician satisfaction initiatives. Facilitates regular and efficient departmental communication meetings. Supports policy and SOP creation, improvement, and implementation as well as providing leadership for continuous quality and process improvement initiatives. Assists in the maintenance and improvement of the Aria database and data mining. Performs Clinical Coordinator duties for radiation therapy student program.Responds to customer concerns and complaints as they arise. Assist with strategic initiatives, revenue reconciliation, and contributes to the future growth of the cancer program. Key Accountabilities:
- Knowledge of Health Care Environment: Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards & policies; supports patient safety & a non- punitive reporting environment; participates in quality improvement process; articulates the link between organizations metrics & national quality initiatives/metrics; monitors environment for areas of risk & liability. Manages therapist schedules to meet needs of daily operations. Clearly communicates the parameters for work scope and authority to execute action; assigns tasks and responsibility in a fair and equitable manner. Ensures patients rights/keeps information confidential.

Qualifications
Required:
- Five years as a Radiation Therapist
- Diploma
- Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- State Radiology Technologist License: Must obtain RAD within 12 months of hire if currently hold RADT.
Desired:
- Three years as a Chief Therapist
- Bachelor Degree
